The purpose of the chakras or energy centers is to awaken the mind, body, and spirit, from the earth (root chakra) to the heavens (crown chakra). This February, the month of love, I present Anahata, or the Heart Chakra. The heart chakra is symbolized by a lotus flower with twelve petals and relates to the color green. One of my favorite heart chakra poses is Ustrasana or Camel Pose. This pose stimulates the thymus gland, heart, lower lungs, skin, hands and circulatory system and expands the ribs. Find a quiet place, turn on some chakra yoga music, clear your mind, relax your body, and enjoy. Don't forget to breathe while visualizing the color green and breathe out while vocalizing this chakra's mantra sound YAM. *Disclaimer: This cool down pose is to be done after warming up the body through a series of warm-up poses. Interesting that the heart chakra is associated with the color green instead of red. Green is my favorite color so good to know.

Nice to visualize green since we are stuck in this dull winter color right now with a pending ice storm on the horizon!

Keep on visualizing that green Kathy! Ice storm will pass, and Spring will be here soon, according to our very own Buckeye Chuck today (2/2/22). ✅ Comments are closed.
