Like many of you, I spent Wednesday afternoon and evening, watching in disbelief domestic terrorists attacking the U.S. Capitol in an effort to prevent a peaceful counting of the electoral college vote.
In yoga, transitions are constant, as in life. Whether we’re moving from one pose to another or making the alteration between a deep inhale and a long exhale, we are constantly making transitions in our practice. What we observed in Washington was the opposite of what we, as a global community, believe in. Yoga, as you know, is well-designed to help each of us build the courage, empathy, capacity, resilience, and unity that our world needs. We need yoga and the lesson that it teaches us. In this time of transition, let’s take good care of ourselves and each other and do what we can to help people build their capacity to heal, rather than wound. I hope you’ll join me next Saturday, January 16th, for our Zoom Community Yoga class. Click here for more details. Namaste,
Joe

Thank you, Doris, for eloquently connecting yoga with the world around us and the need for peace. I feel that peace from your classes and carry it with me as much as I can. It helps remind me that yoga isn't just healthy stretching and exercise, it can be a practice that changes the way we see the world and act in it. Blessings!
