Heat index of ninety-seven-degree Fahrenheit temperatures were not expected on Saturday, July 6th, where current DYOGI students, as well as the Kirkersville United Methodist Church congregation, were invited to an exclusive outdoor event—Goat Yoga! Despite the heat and humidity, we loved connecting with nature, interacting with fellow yogis, and of course, interacting with Tristegus' baby goats! What is goat yoga? Goat yoga is a way of fusing the healing benefits of yoga and animal therapy. Some benefits from yoga include lowering blood pressure, reducing inflammation, removing toxins, and greater sense of peace. Benefits of interacting with goats include decreasing stress, improving heart health, lessening any feelings of sadness or grief, and providing comfort. How does the yoga class go? The yoga class proceeds as it normally would, except the baby goats have FREE REIN to interact with you. Goat distractions, such as stopping for selfies, petting, etc. are permitted! It's a class designed to move and to sit back and chill with the goats. There's just one caveat: Just remember they are farm animals, so they pee, poo, burp, and pass gas. Naaaaaamaaaaaaste.

Thank you so much Samra for attending this event and for being with me in the "Goat Zone". 🐐 The goats loved your attention. They especially loved being fed by you! Too cute! I'm so thankful for your attendance, comment, and recommendation. 🙏

I don't do yoga much but decided to give goat yoga a try and it was really cool. The goats were cute and it felt very natural being outside and doing yoga in that environment!
