As more people are staying home due to the Coronavirus, the dramatic drop in coal pollution, carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, smog, tiny particles, etc., are staggering. For example, U.S. carbon dioxide emissions are down 15% since 2005. It is expected to fall by another 11% this year, the largest drop in at least 70 years! Compared to the last five years, global air pollution in March was down by 46% in Paris, 35% in India, and 29% in Los Angeles! This means the air in our earth is getting cleaner quicker. Cleaner air means stronger lungs for asthmatics of all ages. And as an asthmatic, I couldn't be more grateful! Gratitude AffirmationsI am grateful for a reduction in pollution. I am grateful for cleaner air. I am grateful for brighter skies. Find Something to Be Grateful ForEven though it can be hard to see the good when unfortunate events happen, such as this COVID-19, there is always something good happening as well. Find that good. Please share it below in the form of a sentence or two or a poem, if you'd like. I'd be most grateful!

Wow! Beautiful! Kathleen, I have to agree. The perennials smell sweeter here too. Sweeter than ever! We too are observing more wildlife in our backyard―more red foxes, more skunks (Pyewwww), and ducks (like you, we’ve never had them come to our birdfeeder before)! This extra time at home allows us to live life at a slower pace, giving us more time to enjoy the great outdoors―more time to be a true yogi! Thank you so much for sharing!

I totally agree! I love doing whatever it takes to protect our environment. Promoting cleaner air will lessen the chances of more people having asthma in the future. And reusing natural resources (when appropriate of course) will reduce greenhouse emissions. Thanks for promoting positive messages on your blog! :)

Yes, COVID has certainly given us time to really enjoy the outdoors. We have been walking more on a new trail we found. One day we saw a great site that inspired me to write a quick poem...

Your poem reminds me of a little Northern brown snake I saw on a walk with my husband at the Pataskala Municipal Park. I’m so glad you’re taking walks as it benefits the entire body. Thank you for your feedback in such a creative poetic way. 🙏 Comments are closed.
