Almost always kindness delayed is kindness denied; as well as a response delayed is almost always a response denied. Help out whenever you see or sense a person needs a lift, when you observe someone struggling in life, or simply needs support and encouragement.
Although you may not be able to do a lot for that individual, you can do something. Often a small act of kindness increases hope, confidence, and outlook for the recipient. Answer the phone politely, write a note of appreciation to your favorite pastor, complete that grocery or postal survey at the bottom of your receipt to compliment a worker, make a donation to a trustworthy business or charity, take the time to read and respond to an email, or call someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. There are really so many other little things you can do to lift someone’s physical, emotional, and spiritual survival.
So, don’t wait to be asked for help. Act promptly when you see or sense a need.
“He who sees a need and waits to be asked for help is as unkind as if he had refused it.” ― Dante
